Welcome to my nerdy tribe, named for the comic book store in The Simpsons. You can bring up about anything here, but it will largely be a place to talk about comics so my girlfriend doesn't have to hear it.

My favorites are black and white types, Vertigo and Dark Horse comics. Superhero talk is acceptable in limited doses, and X-men discussion will be limited to Grant Morrison's run and the movies.

I also invite discussion about blogs and media obession, music, books, TV, movies and how much we hate George Bush and Michael Jackson.

To contribute, I don't hate Michael Jackson. I actually enjoyed some of his earlier stuff (Off The Wall was good. Thriller too). I just don't wanna be stuck alone in a room with him.

As for comic preferences that don't include superheroes: Scooter Girl is my favourite comic of the past few years. Hopeless Savages is also a really great book. Grrl Scouts got me into indy books. Sin City is one of my few favourite crime books. Caper is another. Paradigm is confusing as hell, and that's why I love it. And The Sandman is one of my biggest influences, writing-wise (especially Brief Lives). Copybook Tales has one of the few main characters who truly is a reflection of myself and Transmet still keeps me hating (in all the right ways). Barry Ween was good for the first two volumes, but I'm still looking forward to the next series and I really wanna get Pedro and Me. And my mom bought for me Blankets for Christmas :) That should about cover it.

And no mohawks? Wonder why... :)
